After World War II. some Thai soldiers went to fight in the war and were discharged as veterans. To reward for the courage, sacrifice, and suffering of soldiers and their families, the Ministry of Defense established the War Veteans Organization of Thailand on 3 February 1948 and has considered this day as War Veterans Day ever since.
